Starting with the Introduction

Pink + Purple == Fuchsia (a new Operating System)

Fuchsia is a Google’s Secret project (Operating System) that is currently under development, which may replace popular Android OS. Its first time came in the spotlight when it appeared on GitHub in August 2016, without any public announcement.

Let’s understand this, This Operating System is based on a new microkernel called “Zircon”(Magenta) rather than the Linux kernel which is used in Android as well as in ChromeOS. With Fuchsia, Google would not only be dumping the Linux kernel, but also the GPL(General Public License): the OS is licensed under a mix of BSD 3 clause, MIT, and Apache 2.0. It is supposed to be having the capability to run on universal devices like embedded systems, Car dashboards, Mobile Smartphones, tablets, PCs, etc. hence this move can make great ease into the Google Eco-System as all devices running on the same OS so Inter Connectivity would be really good. Google hasn’t made any public, official comments on What is Fuchsia for, leaving us only to speculate.

Let’s come to Fuchsia UI …..The interface and apps are written using Google’s Flutter SDK. The first stable version of Flutter V1.0 is just released recently 3 weeks ago on 4 Dec 2018. It is a Widget-based application development environment where all the major things are in the form of widgets. Flutter is used to build beautiful native Apps for Android as well as iOS. With the launch of Flutter, Google also launched an Android Application to demonstrate the capabilities of flutter. you can experience that app (The History of Everything) using the link here. For Developing Applications Flutter uses DART, Google’s reboot of JavaScript which, on mobile, has a focus on high-performance, 120fps apps. in Nov. 2017 Support for Swift has also committed. Google is also including the JavaScript core support for Application development for fuchsia.

As Fuchsia interface is written with the Flutter, which is cross-platform. This means that, now, we can experience Fuchsia and run it on our Android device. Hotfixit.net pointed out the First time that the Fuchsia System UI, called “Armadillo” is actually pretty interesting now.

Here is the link of Apk for Fuchsia System Armadillo UI you can experience by yourself.

Currently In Pixel book also the experience was very much like Armadillo UI with minor items working most of the time it just crashed but YES it was really early It was only been in development for 2 years as Android took 5 years of development before it was an Operating System (It was initially designed for digital cameras, not for mobile phones but due to popularity of phones it was re-designed).

ArsTechnica coverage link is here if you wanna read more.

In Recent Nov 2018 Honor Play became the first consumer Android device to be tested on Fuchsia, and Huawei is the first company outside of Google to make a major contribution to the open-source project. Huawei Honor play comes with a kirin 970 processor hence another lineup with the same processor may also become compatible with fuchsia.

Now let’s wrap this up…

Basically, we don’t know what Google Fuchsia will ultimately be. Google Fuchsia is thin on the ground and arcane. However, we do know that Fuchsia will be focused on the idea of being able to do whatever we want on whatever device we have handy. Android hung around inside Google for about five years before it launched on a real product. If Fuchsia follows a similar path, and everything goes well, maybe we can expect a Fuchsia based product sometime around 2020. Then again this is Google, so it could all be canceled before it ever been in public.

Ok Now that’s it for Fuchsia from my side, hope you liked it. (If you find some data/Information misleading or incorrect you can comment it down below.)
